About Raising the Bar

Bundaberg Rum is Raising the Bar with an $11.5million fund aimed at helping Australia’s pubs, clubs and bars get back on their feet after the economic blow of COVID-19.

We know Australia’s hospitality industry is vital to our economy, we also know our sector has been hit hardest by the pandemic. Raising the Bar is giving our licensed venues a helping hand when they need it most.

Raising the Bar is providing immediate support to Australian pubs, clubs and bars by delivering essential health and safety equipment through the Bear Cares Safety Package, including hand sanitiser, dispensers, thermal scanners, floor demarcations and PPE.

Medium- and longer-term support to encourage safer outdoor socialising will be delivered through the ‘Bear Garden’ and ‘Bearspoke’ packages. The Raising the Bar team will also work with the industry to restore the confidence of patrons to return to their ‘local’.

Any licensed venue in Australia, regardless of whether they’re a Bundaberg Rum or Diageo stockist or not, are encouraged to apply. Venues are eligible to be awarded more than one Raising the Bar package.

QHA is proud to support Raising the Bar. We all want to see Australia’s hospitality sector thriving once again.

Applications can be made through the Diageo Bar Academy and for more information please contact RTBMedia@diageo.com

Together we’re Raising the Bar and recovering

QHA members are now benefitting from Bundaberg Rum’s $11.5 million Raising the Bar initiative designed to get our hospitality industry back to business after COVID-19.

Our industry has been among the hardest hit by the global pandemic, but with restrictions easingacross the country, we’re optimistic that we can begin to recover from this significant setback.

It’s everyone’s business that our on-premise venues get back to business. Before COVID-19, Australian pubs, bars and clubs employed more than 500,000 Australians and contributed $17.2 billion in revenue.

On top of our significant economic contribution, our venues have an important role to play in our nation’s social fabric. Australians rely on their ‘local’ as a place to come together with friends and enjoy good times.

Raising the Bar is working to rebuild the confidence of Australians to return to their local, by supplying venues with packages of essential health and safety equipment – like thermal scanners, PPE, hand sanitiser and dispensers – to make patrons feel safer when they’re socialising.

This immediate assistance is also removing a cost burden from pubs, bars and clubs at a time when they most need support.

The Raising the Bar application process is simple and can be made through the Diageo Bar Academy.

QHA venues are encouraged to apply so together we can raise the bar on safe socialising and make Australians feel more confident the next time they visit their local.

RTB Applications – it’s simple

With hundreds of Australian pubs, clubs and bars already receiving immediate support from Bundaberg Rum’s Raising the Bar initiative, now is the time for QHA venues to apply.

The application process is quick and easy. Raising the Bar application forms can be completed online through the Diageo Bar Academy website.

Venue owners or managers are simply required to supply some brief details about their premise, select the type of support you would like from Raising the Bar and upload a copy of your liquor license. This is as easy as taking a quick photo with your smart phone or tablet.

An application form can be completed in under five minutes. There’s no reason not to apply and ease some of the cost burden associated with COVID Normal trading.

Together we can raise the bar on safe socialising.
