Input Requested: Hospitality Micro-credential Training Program*

Input Requested: Hospitality Micro-credential Training Program*

As part of our Micro-credential Program supported through DTET funding, the Queensland Hotels Association is currently developing a targeted training initiative to support skills development across the hospitality industry.

The program is being designed to deliver practical, flexible training aligned to industry needs, with a focus on short, accessible learning modules that can be completed alongside workplace commitments.

We are proposing three micro-credentials:

  • Know Your Award: Hospitality Wage & Rostering Compliance – For supervisors and Managers – Practical training on interpreting the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020, including wages, rostering rules, and NES entitlements to support compliant workplace practices.
  • Preventing Sexual Harassment, Bullying and Discrimination in the Workplace – Focused on meeting positive duty obligations through prevention strategies, risk identification, incident response, and building safe, respectful workplace cultures in hospitality settings.
  • Risk-Assessment Management Plan: A Deep Dive – Targeted training on venue-specific RAMP requirements under the Liquor Act, including harm minimisation, risk assessment, and implementation of compliant procedures.

Each micro-credential will incorporate online learning, including videos, quizzes, and workplace-relevant assessments, with participants receiving recognised credentials (such as certificates and/or digital badges) upon completion.

To ensure the program is relevant, fit-for-purpose, and delivers real value to industry, we are seeking input from key stakeholders. Your feedback will directly inform the design and structure of the training, including content focus, delivery methods, and industry priorities.

We would greatly appreciate you taking 5–10 minutes to complete the short survey below. Your insights will play a critical role in shaping a program that supports workforce capability and addresses current industry challenges. If you would prefer to provide feedback via discussion, we would also be happy to arrange a time to connect.

Thank you for your continued support and contribution to the industry.
