Annual liquor and wine licence fees 2026–27 reminder

The new financial year is almost upon us, and that means annual licence fee notices are on their way.
To help licensees meet important deadlines, OLGR will be sending SMS reminders this year.

Information and steps you need to take

Step 1: Check your contact details

Make sure your contact details, including your phone number, are up to date to ensure you receive important information relating to your licence fee notice. You can check or update your details by:

Step 2: Look out for your fee notice

Your annual liquor and wine licence fee notices have now been mailed. If you haven’t received your notice by early July 2026, please contact OLGR immediately.

Step 3: Confirm your licence details

When you receive your notice, check that all licence details and the breakdown of fees are correct. If your trading hours or any other details have changed, notify OLGR immediately so that a new notice can be issued.

Step 4: Pay your fee on-time

Your licence fee must be paid by 31 July 2026. Please note that payments will only be accepted via the OLGR Client Portal, BPAY or in-person at a Queensland Government Service Centre. Payments will not be accepted over the phone or via mail. OLGR cannot accept payment for licence fees prior to 1 July 2026.

The importance of paying annual licence fees on time

It is important you pay your licence fees on time to avoid suspension or cancellation of your licence.

Liquor licensees

If you do not pay your licence fee by 31 July 2026, your licence will be suspended, and you will not be able to sell liquor.

If you do not pay your licence fee by 31 August 2026, your licence will be permanently cancelled, and you will need to apply for a new licence.

Wine licensees

If you do not pay your licence fee by 31 July 2026, your licence will be suspended, and you will not be able to sell liquor.

If you do not pay your licence fee by 17 August 2026, your licence will be permanently cancelled, and you will need to apply for a new licence.

Once a licence is cancelled, it cannot be reinstated. You will need to apply for a new licence.

Hardship payment plans for liquor licensees

We understand that natural disasters and personal or financial hardship can impact your ability to pay your licence fee on time. If this applies to you, you may be able to apply to pay your liquor licensing fee in instalments. If you need to apply for a hardship payment plan, please do so by 10 July 2026.
