The next tender for hotel electronic gaming machine operating authorities in Queensland will open on Wednesday 5 August 2026 and close at 4pm on Wednesday
26 August 2026.
Minimum acceptable prices and number of available authorities for sale across the three regions are:

The number of authorities available per Region is still to be confirmed.
Note: The hotel sector is at capacity under our cap of 19,500 EGM’s. Authorities only become available via existing venues decreasing EGM’s within each respective pool’s geographic area.
Licensees wishing to sell any authorities at the next tender must lodge an application to surrender their gaming machine licence OR decrease the number of gaming machines at their premises.

Extension of 15% sale commission
The Government has approved an extension of the reduced transfer fees associated with the authorised sale of gaming machine operating authorities by Queensland hotels, reducing the amount paid into the Queensland Government Consolidated Fund from 33% to 15%. This trial has been extended until 30 June 2028.
