GHAW is an annual initiative to increase awareness of gambling-related harm, safer gambling practices, and the help available to people affected by gambling.
Last year’s successful theme, ‘Safer gambling—we all have a role to play’, highlighted the importance of industry, government and the community working together to prioritise customer wellbeing and support Queenslanders at risk of gambling harm. This year that theme will be expanded with a focus on the role that friends, loved ones and even employers play, the harm they may also experience due to a loved one’s gambling, and the support that is available to them.
Get involved in GHAW 2024 and promote the event for patrons and the extended community. Access and display the free digital resources developed for use in your venue, or host an event or activity which could start a conversation about unsafe gambling and the support available through Gambling Help Queensland
You can also order free gambling harm minimisation resources for your venue, to support staff to identify and respond to the risk of gambling-related harm for patrons and ensure advice about the free and confidential support available through Gambling Help Queensland is promoted.
After all, for safer gambling—we all have a role to play.
