OLGR’s Modernised Compliance Program
An important update from the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) regarding how compliance inspections will be conducted across licensed venues through a more modern, transparent, and risk-based approach.
OLGR is rolling out two new programs designed to streamline inspections and reduce disruption to your operations:
Harm Minimisation Program
This program replaces full liquor inspection and gaming assessment and focuses on observing harm minimisation practices during peak trading times. Key features include:
- 1–2 inspections per year during busy periods
- No administrative component unless systemic non-compliance is identified
- Opportunity for OLGR officers to observe and gather feedback on your harm minimisation strategies.
Administrative Compliance Program
Replacing the previous administrative components of inspections, this program will be conducted during off-peak times and will cover:
- Licensing, training, record keeping, and documentation
- Liquor and gambling harm minimisation strategies
- Gaming equipment and safer gambling practices (where applicable)
- Risk-based inspection frequency, with follow-ups as needed.
Remote Desktop Audit Program (Coming Soon)
Venues in remote locations with strong compliance histories may be eligible for desktop audits and online meetings, making compliance even more accessible. These changes are designed to support clubs in maintaining high standards while minimizing disruption to your business.
