Awards for Excellence

The QHA Awards for Excellence is the highlight of the Queensland hotel calendar, bringing together our partners, members, and supporters from all corners of the state to celebrate our vibrant industry and recognise the hotels and pubs that have achieved excellence.

The event provides hoteliers and publicans the opportunity to showcase their venue and reward their hard-working staff on a local, state, and national level. For the finalists and winners, it also brings additional marketing, advertising, and media opportunities that are invaluable to hotels and pubs.

There’s more than 40 different award categories up for grabs, which range from dining and bar awards to responsible service, innovation in redevelopment, accommodation facilities, and employee awards. Winners of the QHA Awards for Excellence are announced at the annual gala dinner and presentation evening held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The QHA award winners and finalists are our most highly recommended providers. Those successful in specific categories will also have the opportunity to compete as a finalist in the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) National Hotel Awards.

The QHA is thrilled to be able to judge the best of the best, and we look forward to celebrating your achievements with you.

Hotel Symposium

Hotel licensees, managers, and business decision-makers are invited to attend the QHA’s annual Hotel Symposium, featuring valuable insights and presentations by IGT, Mullins Lawyers, Westpac, and HLB Mann-Juddwith a special address to the industry and a Q&A session.

People, Pots & Profits

At this event, receive invaluable insights from industry leaders and tangible ideas on how to make savings and increase the profitability of your venue. Every year the People, Pots & Profits event covers a range of topics, including food costing, total category overview, beverage trends, social media, and sustainability.

As always, we round out this seminar with our Perfect Pour Competition, which gives publicans and hoteliers the chance to win a free keg for your venue thanks to CUB.

Hotel Market & Economic Outlook

At our annual Hotel Market & Economic Outlook event, we share the latest market intelligence, analysis, and performance outlook for South East Queensland, with presenters providing insights into trends, threats, and market dynamics.

This event will also assist you with budget preparations and marketing plans to better prepare your strategies and manage your venue’s performance in the future.

Charity Bowls Tournament

Join us to support a good cause and enjoy a day on the green at Club Toowoomba.

In addition to an inclusive barbeque lunch, afternoon canapés, and beverages, participants in the tournament will compete in a five-end sudden death elimination, with bonus games for losing teams complete with powerplays and sabotage opportunities.
