$2 million Tourism Business Capability Subsidy – Round 2 now open

Following on from Round 1 earlier this year, DTIS are delighted to announce that Round 2 of our Tourism Business Capability Subsidy is now open!

Here is why tourism operators should consider applying:

  1. Successful applicants from Round 1 are also eligible to apply for Round 2.
  2. Two new program partners have been added to Round 2: Savannah Guides and Tour Guides Australia.
  3. The registration process is quick (less than 10 minutes).
  4. You could receive a subsidy of up to $2,000 (excluding GST) to support accreditation and/or training to support trade/business development.
  5. No co-contribution is required.

Financial boost: Receive up to $2K (exc. GST) per applicant to complete eligible tourism accreditation and training activities.

Inclusive eligibility: Sole traders, micro, small, and medium-sized tourism and event businesses are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge enhancement: Elevate your staff’s expertise to enhance the overall quality of the tourism experience you provide.

Recognition opportunities: Benefit from our support in gaining recognition through tourism accreditation.

Focus areas: Sustainability/ ecotourism, tour guiding, trade distribution, cultural understanding, accessibility, quality, marinas, zoos and aquariums and caravan/holiday parks.

The Queensland Government’s Tourism Business Capability Subsidy (Subsidy) is designed to boost the growth of Queensland’s tourism industry, offering up to $2,000 (GST exclusive) per eligible business to undertake accreditation and training in essential areas such as:

  • sustainability and ecotourism
  • trade distribution
  • international visitor cultural understanding
  • first nations cultural awareness
  • improving quality
  • accessible tourism
  • tour guiding
  • marinas, zoos and aquariums
  • caravan/holiday parks.

Round 1 of the Subsidy launch earlier this year saw a total 282 approved applications, resulting in 518 businesses undertaking 633 accreditation activities and 102 businesses undertaking training for 374 staff.

  • Successful applicants from Round 1 are eligible to apply for Round 2

  • Registration on ATDW has been removed as an eligibility requirement.
