17 June 23: QHA New Members

QHA welcomes our new accommodation members

The amalgamation of AHA TAA (Tourism Association Australia) and AAoA (Accommodation Association of Australia) became effective from 1 July 2023

The new entity is named Accommodation Australia (AA) presenting one peak industry association representing the accommodation industry throughout Australia with a strong, united and effective voice to all levels of Government.

As an accommodation member in Queensland, we look forward to engaging and supporting you both in person as we travel to members across the state or through direct phone contact assistance. This includes the provision of the following services:

  • Your dedicated Accommodation Membership Officer, Tom Fitzgerald, who focuses solely on our members in this part of the industry to act as your conduit to information and QHA services.
  • QHA Training Department that has an expanding list of training opportunities for your staff. The QHA RTO is owned and managed by the QHA, and can tailor training opportunities for you teams. Both accredited and non-accredited (think micro-credentialling type courses) are offered.
  • Employment Relations Advisors are available to speak to all members by phone for free initially and has templated material for every stage of the employee relationship. If a matter requires Industrial Relations representation, our experienced team can also engage on a fee-for-service basis. With many years of industrial relations negotiations behind them, our team are experts in their field on hand for members.
  • Licensing advice and regulatory interpretation is key to all members that hold a licence for liquor, gaming or special facilities in Queensland. After servicing over a thousand members across Queensland for many years, there are few situations that we have not encountered. As a member of the QHA, this knowledge is now at your disposal with a phone call to our team.
  • Advocacy at a local, state and federal level. Between the relationships built by the QHA, AHA and the National Accommodation Hotel Division, there is a powerful network working for the benefit of our industry. Proudly representing the companies that are the important employers right across the state, the QHA will regularly be making contact with members in order to ensure our priorities are focussed on the issues most pertinent to our members.

The QHA have dedicated personnel to ensure you understand and take advantage of your membership, along with advising you of any new member benefits that arise. We will also be engaging in a structured members visitation program to integrate members into the Association as quickly as possible.

The QHA would like to welcome the following new hotel members, corporate members and partners to the association. We encourage you to click the links and familiarise yourself with their businesses and support the members that support you.
