Keno’s Local Area Marketing program has reached new heights, with hundreds more venues running promotions and prizes ordered breaking the $1 million mark in the 2023 Financial Year.
The uptake of Keno’s in-venue promotions throughout the 2023 Financial Year is evidence of the growing popularity and proven efficacy of Local Area Marketing (LAM).
During the year, venues ordered more than 2,100 promotions – 47% more than in the 2022 Financial Year, during which just over 1,380 promotions were ordered.
What stands out most is how many venues started using LAM. During the year, almost 400 venues who hadn’t previously tried it ran a promotion for the first time.
Customers were the big winners of Keno in-venue promotions. The total value of prizes given way through LAM was just over $1 million.
And the time that promotions ran for was also significant. Promotions ordered ran for a total of 11,000 weeks, with an average of 5.27 weeks per promotion.
Keno’s busiest LAM venue gave away more than $11,000 in prizes to its customers, across 14 separate promotions.
The most popular prize ordered was the Weber BBQ (297), closely followed by the Garden Care Kit (194), and Bunnings Gift cards. The Fishing Pack and Camping Pack were also in the top 10 prizes ordered.
The figures reinforce what venues had to say about LAM in Keno’s 2022 customer survey. The results revealed 64% of venues believe in-venue promotions are appealing to their customers and almost 60% said their Keno sales increased during the promotional period.
There really is no simpler way to ramp up customer engagement with Keno than through Local Area Marketing.

We’re talking about the latest techno gadgets, like the Playstation 5 Console and VR2 Digital Edition, DJI Drone, Apple Watch Ultra, and new Go Pro plus hot kitchen appliances like the Delonghi Lattissima One and Breville Air Fryer.
If you want to build the excitement, order a Major/Minor Prize Bundle, consisting of four minor prizes and one major prize run over five weeks, with the major prize given away in the final week. The new Red Balloon gift cards are ideal for weekly minor prizes.
E-gift cards to please every customer
A prize certain to appeal leading into the Christmas season is Holiday and Hotels Gift Cards, which allow winners to choose from more than 800,000 hotels in Australia and around the world, plus flights and experiences.
Keno recently moved from a limited supply of physical gift cards to a wider choice of electronic gift cards, creating even more options to meet customers’ needs.
Another advantage of the shift to e-Gift cards is that it removes the risk of them being lost: e-Gift cards are instantly delivered to winners by email and can be printed and physically presented to them as well. And the lead times are shorter than for other prizes.
The increased range includes newly launched brands like Our Cow cards – the modern, meat raffle alternative – plus AFL, NRL, and Super Cheap Auto cards.
Don’t delay – lead time is usually four to six weeks. Order your promo today by visiting Keno Connect
