The QHA has partnered with Drake WorkWise who have developed a half-day training package which supports the QHA’s ‘harm minimisation’ strategy around problem gambling. This is a public classroom-based training session which focuses upon understanding the key drivers to problem gambling, the impact on personal wellbeing and relationships, addiction behaviours and behavioural indicators. Drake Workwise are well known for delivering Employee Assistance Programs to a range of businesses and have a national profile.

This workshop is delivered by a registered psychologist and contains the following modules:

  • Overview – gambling in Australia
  • The impact of problem gambling
  • Effective engagement with gamblers and how to respond
  • Wellbeing and resilience for gaming room employees
