Many Queensland communities and businesses have been drastically impacted by the flooding disaster across the South East.
The federal government has launched two assistance packages:

  1. the Disaster Recovery Allowance (DRA) and
  2. the Disaster Recovery Payment (AGDRP).

Disaster Recovery Allowance

The DRA is available to employees and businesses in affected local government areas and consists of a maximum 13-week payment from when loss of income began as a result of the disaster.

You have until 28 August 2022 to make a claim for the following Local Government Areas (LGAs):

  • Brisbane
  • Fraser Coast
  • Gladstone
  • Gold Coast
  • Gympie
  • Ipswich
  • Lockyer Valley
  • Logan
  • Moreton Bay
  • Noosa
  • North Burnett
  • Redland
  • Scenic Rim
  • Somerset
  • South Burnett
  • Southern Downs
  • Sunshine Coast
  • Toowoomba

Disaster Recovery Payment

The AGDRP is a one-off payment of $1,000 per adult and $400 per child to those seriously affected by the floods. These payments can be claimed via myGov or by calling Services Australia on 180 22 66. More information is available on the Services Australia website.

Personal Hardship Financial Assistance
The Queensland government has activated Personal Hardship Financial Assistance for affected areas and includes a number for assistance grants.
