IMMEDIATE RELEASE

09 JUNE 2020

After a rigorous systems assessment from Queensland’s Office of Liquor and Gaming (OLGR), IDU Identification (IDU) is now readily available for all licensed pubs, clubs and venues across the state.

Built by some of the states brightest minds, IDU is a next-generation digital ID authenticator app for licensed venues to manage their customers as efficiently and accurately as possible.

Founder Mitch Robinson says the application leverages the most advanced equipment and software available on the market, and operates wirelessly with a downloadable iOS app.

“We’ve built an easy-to-use system that enables venues to scan hundreds of domestic and international IDs, while generating insights to help make venue operations more sustainable longer term,” said Robinson.

IDU is a joint venture between Robinson and Brisbane-based technology incubator 'Aginic Ventures’, who harness the power of innovation to help businesses and communities across Australia. Aginic Ventures Director Rob Mackay said partnering with Mr Robinson was a ‘no-brainer’.

“We’re proud to have supported IDU to date and can’t wait to see this technology have a huge impact on the operational viability of many venues across Queensland as they reemerge from the recent pandemic,” said Mackay.

Until June 30, IDU is offering complimentary product demonstrations and discounted onboarding rates to all licensed venues across Queensland, who are working to re-establish their businesses following the pandemic.

“We’re so excited about finally being able to release IDU, but want to make sure we don’t create larger overheads for venues re-opening in this difficult time.”

To support the industry get back on its feet we’ve put together an onboarding offer for venues looking to harness the power of our new technology,” Robinson said.

Albert Hakfoort, CEO of the Hakfoort Group said that onboarding IDU was a logical decision as their venues look to streamline operations following the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The system gives our staff freedom and flexibility in how we manage the important scanning process at the point of entry each night.

“We're focused on giving our patrons the best and safest experience possible and we know IDU is part of that commitment for us," said Hakfoort.

IDU’s launch is just the start of a broader vision to enhance the operating effectiveness of licensed venues across the country, focusing on providing an easier, safer and more inclusive experience for all.

In the near future Robinson expects to further enhance IDU through patron focused features like payment gateways, SOS and emergency contact features, group chats, VIP experiences and friend finders in nightlife hotspots.
