From 6pm Friday 4 March 2022:

  • Masks will no longer be required in hospitality venues for staff or customers.
  • Masks are recommended whenever you can’t social distance.
  • Venues and events will no longer have any density limits.

Members will be aware that venue areas used for private hire (functions and events) were able to have unvaccinated people attending previously only to a maximum of 20 people or 1 per 4 square meters, whichever was less. The change from Friday now allows an unlimited number of people to attend.

Hotels, Clubs, Restaurants and Cafes are still required to enforce vaccination as a condition of entry for dining-in or drinking-in customers. Proof of vaccination and use of the Check In Qld app is still required.

The QHA understands the frustration this continues to cause members and is continuing our advocacy to government to have these requirements removed.
