STAGE 3 TRADING COMMENCES ON FRIDAY 3 JULY 2020
Stage 3 has arrived a little early for our QHA Members due to the professional and diligent efforts right across the state in hotels and accommodation venues.
The QHA is still keen to be your partner in recovery, and will provide you with all of the information we can on how to operate in the new stage. However, I want to remind you all – this is not over.
Stage 3 is not a point that we want to plateau, and to do that we must continue to stick to the conditions of the Chief Health Officer Directive. Now is not the time to flaunt the rules and cause the whole industry to be stalled at this point. It is up to you, the members, to achieve this.
Thankfully, as of 12 noon on July 3 2020, the restrictive processes around table service and corralling patrons in designated areas are lifted. Events and function spaces can be used far more effectively and gaming rooms can re-open.
It is vital that members continue to adhere to the restrictions that must still be maintained. Record keeping of patron is vital to maintaining the excellent health outcomes in Queensland and we would expect members to uphold this process.
The “4sqm Rule” is the guiding principle under Stage 3, that limits the capacity of venues to ensure there is room for the patrons to physically distance themselves. It is the requirement of the venue to only allow patrons in to fulfil 1 patron per 4 sqm, and to continue with sanitation and hygiene requirements. Patrons must be encouraged to keep a social distance, however, it is not the intention that members should be out with tape measures separating patrons!
As always, I hope this information is useful and please be in touch with either myself or other members of the QHA team to assist.
