Over the weekend Australia’s Prime Minister, the Hon Anthony Albanese MP, announced that Thursday, 22 September will be a one-off special public holiday to mark the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

What this means is that 22 September will be a public holiday for the purposes of award and legislatively based entitlements.
