If your hotel business is visited by a person infected with COVID-19, or you have a staff member who has carried out duties at the venue and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19, you are not required to close the business for a deep clean, nor are staff working in proximity to the infected colleague or patron required to isolate.

Businesses must continue to operate in accordance with the COVID Safe Checklist for Restricted Businesses, which includes heightened cleaning standards throughout the venue. If you are aware of the locations throughout the venue where the infected persons may have frequented it is recommended a further clean of those areas is conducted at the earliest opportunity.

The definition of a Close Contact is further outlined in the Employment Relations link within this Update which does not extend to the workplace, rather is confined to household and household like contacts.
